YourMondayMotivator: Staying Healthy

You know those mornings when you wake up with a blocked nose and a headache, they’re a pain.

I’ve had one of those mornings today and it got me thinking about health. Something I have a fascination with and research a lot.

All of the inspiration under the sun won’t help if you’re not feeling great. And you can’t enjoy your success if your body is failing.

As I near 40 and having my first child this is even more important to me. On a recent visit to the hospital, not planned, doctors discovered I had hereditary high cholesterol. They instantly prescribed me with statins. Bum! A pill every day for the rest of my life.

I didn’t want to do that and thought there must be a better way. There was. A chat with a colleague put me onto the akaline diet and two months later my cholesterol had dropped. Yay, no drugs. Just some nice tasting green stuff every morning.

In my opinion you have to be able to stay fit and healthy within the boundaries of a busy life and do workouts that don’t require a gym, personal trainer and fancy equipment. That’s what I research and do because I want to be able to do things that I can do anywhere, anytime.

I have recently started following a more Primal diet and I have seen benefits already. Keep in mind we are all different and different things work for us. You just have to take the time, measure, write things down and find out what works for you. You will have a lot more enjoyment from your life and food if you do.

This week have a think about your health and your goals. Are they aligned and is your health going to hold out for you to achieve them.

My best.

Glenn

Wow! That is a great story and I shared it with a few people last night as proof I'm not crazy. Thank you Felicity.

Glenn – I hear you about primal/alkaline diet!
We discovered it when my husband was diagnosed with terminal malignant melanoma.
Nearly 4 yrs later and both of us have never felt or looked so good.
It is so simple, economic and effective.
I want to shout it from the roof tops but most people don't want to hear it.
Green smoothies would be a good starting point for EVERYBODY. Thanx for sharing Glenn.

Thanks Rob and I was lucky I did have someone. Got a permanent lump though :)

So true, Glenn. The older we get, the more we realise the importance. Shame someone didn't bang me over the head and convince me of it when I was 30!
