YourMondayMotivator: Count your blessings

From time to time on the road to success, health and wisdom we must take our eyes off the horizon and stop thinking about what we want. With you eyes straight ahead you are missing what is above, below and beside you.

That’s important because I often her about people, both men and women, who are so caught up in what they are doing they forget who and what they have. I believe our lives are not meant to be lived like that. Although it is up to you to move yourself you can draw strength, support and love from those closest to you and the things you have.

The other way to focus on where you are now, and how well off you are, is to count your blessings. Make a list of the things you have and read it often. Add to the list as good things however small happen.

You always have things in your life to be thankful for. The man who moans about not having gloves will meet a man with no hands and realise he is better off. Make a list of them and the things that are important to you.

Napoleon Hill writes that there are three important things to consider to help with your sense of humour and mindset:

  1. Never let a day go by without a prayer of thanks for the bounty you enjoy, no matter how small it is.
  2. And go out of your way every day to spend part of your time and energy helping others.
  3. And you are never alone. A greater power is with you always.

I think they are important things to keep in mind and easy to do in the hectic day to day life we find ourselves in.

Make a quick list now and put it somewhere you can see it. Read it a few times today, tomorrow for a few days and see what difference it makes to how your day goes. Let me know if it makes a difference.
