YourMondayMotivator: A year in the life of …

I realised recently that unless I win Lotto in the next month or so I am not going to be able to buy a Lamborghini on my birthday.

Tears flowed and blue words flew. Why hadn’t I achieved that goal?
It made me look back at the last year to see what I have achieved and if I moved forward.

When I looked back at my MondayMotivators, and what I was writing about a year ago, it became clear I have come a long way in the past 12 months. I have learned a lot and gained a heap of experience.

We often look back, dwell on our past failures, and don’t give enough weight to our achievements. We constantly underestimate ourselves.

Benjamin Spock said, “Trust yourself. You know more than you think you do.”

And you do.

It often takes someone or something to happen to shake you up and make you remember that. An event that means you have to do something yourself. You do it and you remind yourself you can. You have the knowledge.

This week open a new page in your notebook or diary and write the story of your past year. Title it A Year in the Life Of [your name] and write a page of what you have done over the last year.

This is one of the most surprising things you can do. Focus on your achievements only. Trust me you will find yourself inspirational. And you are. Because at the end of the day we are all inspiring someone and are a role model for someone. We need to take that role seriously and trust ourselves. We know more than what we think.

Have a great week.
